Step 1
Stand up straight. When you are standing still, think that there is a string from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet. You need to focus on keeping this string straight to have a better posture. This will take some time to get used to, but over time it will become second nature.
-
Step 2
Walk with your chin held up. Remember those old movies where the women practiced walking with a book on their head to get better posture. They were onto something. It is important to remember to keep your chin up and your back straight as you walk.
-
Step 3
Sit with a lower lumbar pillow to help your posture. Most chairs do not support the lower back in the best way. A small pillow placed at your lower back can help you to have better posture. This will alleviate back pain from sitting too long as well.
-
Step 4
Place your feet flat on the floor when you are sitting in a chair. Many people sit on their legs and do not have good posture. This leads to strain on the back. Make sure that your chair is low enough for you to comfortably reach the ground.
