Shop Without Credit or Debt

If you have items you need to buy on time, but don't want to put it on a credit card or go into debt (or further into debt), layaway may be for you. Layaway is a shopping option that was readily used in our country's past, but lost popularly due to easy credit and the desire for instant gratification. Layaway is now coming back into style due to families not wanting to run up additional credit card debt. This can be a great way for you to budget your gift giving or make large purchases (like furniture, appliances, etc.) without going into debt.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

REGISTER AT eLayaway.com: Go to eLayaway.com and click on "Join Now". Then click on "Register Now" under the standard program for your free membership. Enter your information to join.

  2. Step 2

SHOP: You can either shop at the eLayaway Mall or choose one of eLayaway's merchants (over 1000 available) that offer eLayaway. Once you choose your item, choose "eLayaway Now". You will then be able to choose your payment options (number of months between 3 and 13 to pay off your item). This will depend on what you can afford to pay, and when you need the item(s). NOTE: There is a 1.9% charge for this service ($1.90 for each $100 you put on layaway).

  3. Step 3

MAKE MONTHLY PAYMENTS: Make your monthly payments according to your chosen payment selection.

  4. Step 4

RECEIVE YOUR ITEM(S): Shortly after your last payment, you will receive your item(s). You are free and clear, and have the item(s) you want without getting into debt.

Tips & Warnings
  • Sears and other local stores have also brought back layaway this year.
  • eLayaway.com offers not only offers products and online stores, but also offers layaway for health, sports, and vacations.
