Step 1
Spinning LogoGet certification. You must be certified to be a Spinning instructor. Once you get certification, you will be ready to teach a class. See Resources on How to Get Spinning Certification.

Create Routine. Have a variety on your routine. If the class is just pedaling and not much else, it becomes a boring indoor cycling workout. Spinning is high energy and works your whole lower body. By changing the movements and the resistance, the class will get a better workout and have more fun.

Create music. The music is key in a spinning class. You want the music to fit with the routine. You can create your own mixes or shop online at Spinning.com (Link in Resources) to get CD's already created.

Step 4
Have energy. You need to motivate the class to move and have fun while pushing the pedals. If you are quiet and monotone, the class will not have fun. Yell and scream, not in a drill sergeant way, just cheerful and motivating. Things such as "You can do it!" or "Come on, just a little bit longer" are helpful.

Step 5
Keep the workout intense. People come to spinning to get a good workout, not just spin the pedals. Be sure to keep the workout at a intense pace with short recovery's.

Be safe. It is important to remind people to watch their heart rate monitor and modify the moves if necessary. It is not a bad idea to jump off the bike periodically and check on people's heart rate or to see if they have water.
