Publishing new eHow articles is an accomplishment and naturally you want to tell everyone about them. So how do you do that? You can send broadcast emails to everyone on your friend list, but that can become cumbersome to recipients. If everyone on my friend list did that, I’d end up with dozens of emails a day! Read more to find out how to easily tell your friends about your eHow articles.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • eHow account
  • Twitter account
  1. Step 1

    Visit eHow’s community forum

    – Click on the Community tab located left of the Profile Tab. Here you’ll see eHow featured Member of the Day (if you haven’t been featured already, perhaps you will be soon.)

  2. Step 2

Click on the Forums link to the right of “Main”

    – There are five categories under the general forum page. One of these categories is Community Chatter.

  3. Step 3
    Community Chatter
    Community Chatter

Click on the Community Chatter category.

    – It may be overwhelming here – a lot of chatter and all, but somewhere among all the conversations is a link that says for instance, Mon. Dec 8th articles.

  4. Step 4
    eHow daily Forum articles
    eHow daily Forum articles

Click on the daily articles link

    – Here is where you and the rest of the community may post links to their newest articles. Generally speaking, people post up to three articles at a time. Everyone who posts is honor bound to read and rate the posts of other participating members; it’s only fair after all. Posting at this forum is a quick and easy way to attract attention to your articles.

Sometimes, any one particular day may have a tremendous amount of posts which is hard to keep up with. When that happens, I will read and rate only one article per poster, but you may not have a problem with the deluge. It’s up to you

  5. Step 5
    eHow Daily Read and Rate
    eHow Daily Read and Rate

    eHow Daily Read and Rate
    – This is a group you can join that has the same purpose as the forum daily articles. You can find this group under the “Groups” tab and search “daily read”. Join the group.

Here are the instructions per Jodi Jill Group admin: Here's what you need to do to get read and rated:
    1. Add a post to the Day to visit. - include up to three articles you have (they don't need to written that day.)
    2. Find another post from the member in this group and rate...

  6. Step 6
    eHow on Twitter
    eHow on Twitter

    Join Twitter!

    – Once you join Twitter you can then join the eHow Twitter group and twitter away with your article posting announcements!

  7. Step 7
    Add
    Add

Add HTML to your profile page and feature your own articles.

    - eHow member, Jay-Tee Dean, wrote a great article on how to add html to your profile just like I did on mine. Check out his article by clicking through the link in the resource box.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be proactive - see who's online whether existing friend or new, check out, read, rate and comment on their articles first. Everyone checks their comments page and most likely they'll reciprocate your efforts.
  • Before requesting to be added as a friend, it's always a nice gesture to read, rate and comment on at least one article. Believe me, we always check before adding you.
  • If you post only links on Twitter - you could get flagged as a spammer - helpful hint from eHow member Catherine Night.
  • If you constantly spam (broadcast email) your friends about your new articles they will eventually just delete your notes or select to ignore your messages and send them to the "ignored" folder.
