How to Make Reindeer Food

This is a fun and cute Christmas project to do with the kids while they are counting down the days until Santa comes. They will be very excited Christmas morning to see if the reindeer ate the food.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• uncooked oatmeal
• glitter
• ziploc bags

1. Give each child a ziploc bag. Help them measure one cup of oatmeal into the bag.

2. Let the children add glitter to the oatmeal in their bag. Have a variety of colors to choose from so they can each make their own special blend of reindeer food.

3. Seal the bag and shake it gently to mix the oatmeal and glitter together.

4. On Christmas Eve go outside and sprinkle the reindeer food around the yard.

5. The glitter will sparkle in the moonlight and Santa’s reindeer will see it when they are flying overhead and they will stop at your house.

6. While Santa is putting gifts under your tree, the reindeer can have a snack.

7. Watch on Christmas morning as your children run to see if the reindeer ate the food.

Tips & Warnings

• You will want to mess up the snow (if you have any) a little bit where they sprinkled the reindeer food so it looks like the reindeer ate it.
