Making candycane hot cocoa is easy with this recipe! Its super fun and really easy to make for a flavorful different twist on hot cocoa!!!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • sugar
  • cocoa powder
  • HOT water
  • milk
  • candycanes
  • whip cream (optional)
  1. Step 1

Crunch up original candy canes, or even your favorite, into small chips. Put enough at the bottom of your mug to equal about 1/8 teaspoon or more if you like!

  2. Step 2

Add 1/4 cup of cocoa, 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/3 cup HOT water in a saucepan. Turn the burner onto medium to low heat until the mix begins to boil. Be sure to stir constantly for one minute to avoid burning at the bottom.

  3. Step 3

Remove from heat. Stir in 4 cups of milk, and heat on LOW. Be sure not to boil the mixture at this step. Heat until warm enough to drink as hot cocoa (about one minute). Remove from heat completely.

  4. Step 4

Pour finished hot cocoa into the mugs with the candy cane pieces still in the bottom. Top it off with some whip cream or even a fully candy cane to stir the pieces at the bottom or eat!!!
