Things You'll Need:
- Skillet
- Thick cut pork chops
- Butter flavored cooking spray
- Seasonings
-
Step 1
Thoroughly spray a large skillet with butter flavored cooking spray.
-
Step 2
Add the pork chops to the skillet and sear on each side for approximately one minute on high heat. Each side should be browned and golden.
-
Step 3
Lower the heat to medium or medium high. Cook the pork chops seven to ten minutes per side. Pork chops are done when the juices run clear, not red. Your pork chops will be tender when cooked for a longer time at a lower heat level. Remember this whenever you're making your pork recipes.
-
Step 4
Remove the pork chops from the skillet and arrange on a platter. Cover the platter or slide the platter into your microwave so the pork chops stay hot. Let them sit for approximately ten minutes so the juices can redistribute.
-
Step 5
Add a half cup of high quality red wine to your skillet and return to the heat. Stir with a wooden spoon until the wine reduces. Serve as a glaze for your pork chops.
