Goulash is one of those dinners that are quick and easy but still very good tasting and a comfort food. Perfect for cold winter nights and yummy when reheated as well.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pasta pan
  • Skillet
  • Hamburger
  • Macaroni
  • Tomato sauce
  • Diced tomatoes
  • Ketchup
  • Onion
  1. Step 1

Add six cups of water to a large pasta pan. Turn the heat on high. When the water comes to a rolling boil, add your macaroni. Boil until the pasta is cooked, typically about six to eight minutes.

  2. Step 2

Slice up an onion and put into a skillet. Chunk up thawed hamburger and cook in the same skillet until the hamburger is browned through.

  3. Step 3

Add your drained diced tomatoes and a can of tomato sauce to your hamburger and onions.

  4. Step 4

Drain your macaroni and return it to your pasta pan.

  5. Step 5

Dump your hamburger mixture into the pasta. Add a half cup of ketchup and stir. The ketchup cuts the acidity and adds a touch of sweetness to the goulash.

  6. Step 6

Serve in a bowl with a loaf of fresh chunky bread.

Tips & Warnings
  • Season according to your own tastes. Consider adding garlic powder, all spice or oregano to your meat when browning it for extra flavor.
  • Store any left overs in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It will stay good for approximately one week.
  • Reheat by adding a touch of water and a bit of ketchup, then microwave until warmed through.
