Step 1
Start by checking the local newspaper. This is the basic source for those looking to hire and is extremely viable in smaller towns. If the newspaper has a website, check there too!
-
Step 2
Always keep your eye out for those 'help wanted' signs hanging around the town. These are found in smaller establishments and bring simple jobs to your attention.
-
Step 3
Check online at craigslist.org. These days finding a job, even part time, has gone techno. So being able to see what there might be available, right now, is a great resource. When responding to these ads, make sure you write to them just as you would in a physical job setting (no one line emails.)
-
Step 4
Check online at the employment websites. Places like Monster.com have careers listed (with a few part time gigs as well.) The sources for part time - hourly work is SnagAJob.com. Here you will find plenty of places looking for folks to start immediately.
