How to Properly Putt in Golf

Would you like to improve your golf game? This article will teach you the proper stance and setup that will lead to a perfect putting stroke every time in your golf game.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Place the golf ball in the middle of your stance.

  2. Step 2

    Your feet should be shoulder width apart.

  3. Step 3

    Your eyes should be directly over the golf ball.

  4. Step 4

    Both of your elbows should be tucked into your stomach as you lean over the golf ball.

  5. Step 5

    Your grip on your putter should be light and not too firm.

  6. Step 6

    As you move the club back, make sure your hands are locked and you are moving your shoulders.

  7. Step 7

    The club should only be moved back about 3 inches.

  8. Step 8

    Pull the club through impact. Again, your hands should be locked and the movement should be generated by your shoulders.

  9. Step 9

    Putt all the way through the ball and keep your head still.

  10. Step 10

    Hold your follow through until the putt hits the bottom of the cup.
