If you want to decorate a beautiful Christmas Tree, read this!!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tree lights, Ornaments, a Tree Skirt, Tree Stand, Christmas Tree, Spiced Hot Cider, Festive Music, Loved Ones
  1. Step 1

Make sure your tree trunk has been cut just before you prepare to insert it in the stand

  2. Step 2

Insert the tree and hold it steady and straight while someone else tightens the screws evenly moving from one to the next turning each one a few times to ensure the tree it pretty well centered in the stand, fill to the designated point with some fresh water, to keep the tree from drying out

  3. Step 3

Place/arrange your tree skirt around the base of the tree and stand, making sure you don't make it too tight to access the basin when you need to add more water every few days

  4. Step 4

Beginning @ the top of the tree start wrapping your tree lights as tightly as you can depending on how many strands you have and how many lights you want, as you come to the end of each strand, bring the next strand and link it in with the plug of the previous strand

  5. Step 5

If you have popcorn strands, now wrap these around the tree in the same way you wrapped the lights

  6. Step 6

Starting however you prefer, I usually start with the biggest, heaviest ornaments and start distributing them around the tree, more towards the bottom half since those branches are often the stronger branches to hold the heavier ornaments.

  7. Step 7

Continue adding ornaments moving around the tree the whole time to ensure your ornament distribution has movement and color mixed throughout, not all clumped in sections.

  8. Step 8

Add your final touches, either bows or candy canes dotted around the tree, top off the pinnacle with your angel or star finale

  9. Step 9

Relax and enjoy it with your loved ones and mug of hot spiced cider! Listen to the carols and make an evening out of it!

Tips & Warnings
  • I often group the types of ornaments by size/ color so it is easier to see what you have to choose from as you go
  • Re: lights and popcorn, a great way to make this job less complicated I usually organize them on a piece of cardboard so they don't get tangled and knotted
  • Try each strand of lights 1st in an outlet to make sure they are working, replace any broken lights before putting them on any tree
  • Link lights together continuing 1 united strand so as not to overload any electrical outlets
  • Make sure any glass ornaments don't have chips or broken parts as they can be dangerous for kids, animals, or even adults, if sharp or dangerous, throw them away
