How to Make a Felted Flower Pin Quick and Easy
Bring a little sunshine into your life with a snappy lapel pin that will look fresh for the winter season. It is made with mostly all recyclable materials and your old scrapbooking supplies.
Things You'll Need
- 2 different felted sweaters
- Sizzix machine
- Flower die cut
- Basic sewing kit
- Small pin back
Instructions
-
-
1
Felt the two sweaters in your washing machine.
-
2
Take your Sizzix machine and your flower die cut and prepare it for use. Prepare the wool to be cut to the same size as the flower die that way it won't jam into the machine when you are ready to make your flower.
-
-
3
Lay the felted wool piece under the die then place it in the Sizzix machine.
-
4
Pull the lever down to apply pressure to the cutting die. Apply pressure to the die in sections so the cutting tool can completely cut the wool without any skips or uncut areas. If your die doesn't cut a certain area, you can use your scissors to clip the uncut areas to set your flower free.
-
5
Put the sections together using fabric glue. Glue a small felted ball that you can make yourself in the center.
-
6
Sew a pin back onto the flower.

This is a great place to put hot fix gems on the flower to give it an extra sparkle! Can't forget the bling!
Keep all sewing supplies away from small children to avoid injury.

These are really cute. I have lots of felt, and I hate to throw the unused corners away. This would be a great use for them. Great pictures, too. 5* -

From the thumbnail, it looked like they were made of that craft foam. But looking at the bigger picture, they are so much prettier with lots of nice texture. Thanks for sharing the project and great instructions! -
