Everyone loves candles. Candles are beautiful when they are used for decorations. They also make wonderful gifts. You can buy them plain or fancy. If you want to personalize a candle, or keep your gift budget under control, make your own decoupage candles.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pillar candle
  • Floral tissue
  • Scissors
  • White glue
  • paintbrushes
  • Fixative spray
  • Decoupage medium
  1. Step 1
    Tear the tissue paper

    Tear the tissue paper

Start by cutting or tearing the tissues into several pieces of varying sizes. Make sure they are not too big for your candle. Cover the candle with white glue smoothing it down with a paintbrush. Leave a space at the top and at the bottom of the candle. Carefully lay pieces of the tissue over the glue, smoothing to keep the bulges out.

  2. Step 2

Apply several coats of the decoupage medium with the use of a paintbrush over the surface of the tissue. Let each coat dry before the next coat is applied. It will dry clear.

  3. Step 3

When you apply the final coat, sprinkle clear or light colored ultra-fine glitter over the candle before it is completely dry. Let the candle dry.
