Things You'll Need:
- Screwdriver, Pliers, plumbers tape.
-
Step 1
Turn off the power and water supply to your dishwasher. DO NOT just turn your switch off! Turn the power off at the breaker.
-
Step 2
Disconnect your water supply line from under the sink. This will be the line that runs from your water shut off to the dishwasher. Disconnect the drain from under your sink or from your garbage disposal.
-
Step 3
Make sure that you have turned the power off to the dishwasher and remove the bottom cover plate. Once open you'll see the power supply, disconnect these wires. Unscrew your dishwasher from the underside of your cabinet. Your old dishwasher should easily slide out now giving you the room you need to disconnect the water supply line and drain from the dishwasher.
-
Step 4
To install the new dishwasher, simply, connect the drain and water supply to the dishwasher. Remember the plumbers tape at the water supply line. While sliding your new dishwasher into place feed the drain and water line through to under your cabinet. Make sure to pull your electrical wiring through as well. Once your dishwasher is in place, reconnect it to the drain (might be your garbage disposal) and water supply. Wire your hot and cold. REMEMEBR the ground wire. This is usually just a copper wire connected to a green screw on the dishwasher. Once you have adjusted the height by turning the adjustable feet and secured it by screwing it into the underside of your cabinet, you'll need to test it.
-
Step 5
Turn the power back on, turn the water supply back on. Leave the cover panel off the bottom for now. Pour about 4 cups of water into the bottom of the dishwasher, this will prime it. Run your dishwasher through a complete cycle. Check to make sure that water is running through and check under the dishwasher for any leaks. If everything looks ok, add the cover plate to the bottom. Make sure that it is as close to the floor as possible. This will reduce any extra noise.
