What are the 5 W's you ask? Any writer knows.

  • What
  • Where
  • When
  • Why
  1. Step 1

    Any good writer knows what the 5 w's are, when learning to write in high school my teacher said in order to write a good article or story you need the 5 w's

  2. Step 2

    The first w is "who" who is your story or article about, you need a main person or itwm in your story or article.

  3. Step 3

    The second w is "what" what is your story or article about you need a plot or storyline.

  4. Step 4

    The third w is "where" where is your story or article located, you need a location.

  5. Step 5

    The fourth w is "when" when does your story or article takes place, you need a time zone

  6. Step 6

    The fifth and final w is "why" why are you writing this story or article you need a specific reason for writing your story or article.

  7. Step 7

    There now you have all stories need these 5 w's once you get an idea and you put these 5 simple things in line then you will have your story it just takes a little time to think about it whether you are writing a short story, article or a novel.
