Osteoporosis usually hits women but more and more men are being affected by osteoporosis. The following may be some healthy choices to diminish your bone structure to deteriorate.
Osteoporosis is a bone illness which is characterized from a high reduction in the density of the bone mass.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Reduce or better yet get rid of the consumption of alcohol and cigarettes

  2. Step 2

    Have a healthy balanced diet filled with calcium and Vitamin D

  3. Step 3

    Exercise or practice some sports, the intensity of your work out will depend on your age and lifestyle, but walking 30 minutes a day is a good start

  4. Step 4

    Get out in the sun at least 10 minutes a day (this is harder during winter months but you can take a Vitamin D supplement), but exposing legs and arms to the sun is good for the Vitamin D (of course wear sunscreen)

  5. Step 5

    Get an annual check up with your family doctor

on 12/22/2008 My doctor also recommended dropping sodas too. The phosphorus (or something) in sodas interferes with calcium absorption, I believe.
