This shows the steps of the crochet slip stitch in moving from one stitch to the next.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Crochet Hook
  • Yarn
  1. Step 1

    Each crochet stitch will have two loops at the top of the stitch. Position your hook to go in below the two strands of thread at the top of the stitch.

  2. Step 2

    Insert your hook below the two strands of thread at the top of the stitch.

  3. Step 3

    Wrap the yarn over your crochet hook.

  4. Step 4

    Pull the crochet hook and yarn through the two strands of yarn. You will be pulling the yarn below the two strands of the stitch and then through the loop on the crochet hook.

  5. Step 5

    Continue pulling the hook and yarn through the loop on the hook.

  6. Step 6

    You have completed your slip stitch on the first stitch.

  7. Step 7

    When the slip stitch is complete, you have pulled your hook and yarn through 3 loops.

  8. Step 8

    Repeat steps 1-6 for each stitch that you need to slip stitch across.
