How to Create Good Back links to Your Website or Content

To have any real presence online you need traffic to your site, and lots of it. But not just any old dead traffic, you need people who will be interested in what you offer or are trying to explain. This means that you need targeted traffic. To get targeted traffic you want the people who are already searching for you. To get those people you need a good rank in the search engines. There are a few ways to do this.

1. What you need is backlinks. One of the best ways to get back links is through social bookmarking. These sites allow you to place your links on them in a public directory. Social book mark sites include sites like Digg, Delicious, Twitter, Stumble Upon, Facebook, and many others. Adding your links can be time consuming but it is worth it for the free targeted traffic you can get.

2. Another step you will want to take is video sharing. Have you heard of YouTube? Few people have not heard of it and that is one source for amazing traffic. Free programs like windows movie maker can help you put together a short video ad about your product to post to the video networks. You can also find companies who can make videos for you if you prefer. Video sharing sites also include Veoh, Revver, Yahoo Video, Google Video, and several others.

3. Blogging is another way to promote your website. But starting a blog and adding a few posts wont work. You need to join blog networks and be sure to do something called pinging your blog to get it noticed faster. I suggest doing a search for blog networks and pinging. You also need to have quality content posted 3 times a week or more to keep a flow of traffic. Be sure to add your blogs RSS feeds to directories as well.

4. Another way to get great backlinks is article marketing. By writing and submitting articles to article directories you can gain a ton of viral traffic. Article directories allow you to use an "Author" box. In that box you can put your name, company as applies, and the link to your related information. It is one of the best ways to get links because people can use your submitted articles on thier sites or in publishing as long as they keep your authors box in it's original form.

5. You may not have time for all this work every single day, and that is ok because there is tools and software out there to help automate things for you. Some of it's free and some you have to pay for.
