Stop Back Pain While House Cleaning
Stop Back Pain While House Cleaning

Stretching in unusual ways will aggravate lower back pain. Unfortunately, when house cleaning, your body does a lot of strange stretching. With a little creative ingenuity, you can keep a clean house and avoid lower back pain as well.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

BATHTUBS My mom taught me to use a plastic bristle broom to brush Comet cleanser around my bath tub and shower walls. Her method cleaned my tub and cleaned out my broom as well. Now there's an even better way to clean the bathtub without killing my lower back. The Mr. Clean MagicReach has a long handle and a triangle shaped head to clean the tub and more.

  2. Step 2

WINDOWS Invisible glass makes a product that looks just like the Mr. Clean MagicReach but is designed for cleaning windows.

  3. Step 3

FLOORS Lower back pain makes it more than just a chore to sweep and vacuum. Moving furniture and the repetitive reaching and pulling to clean the floor can really aggravate the lower back. There are several new vacuums on the market with better reach under furniture so that you don't have to move a thing. Better yet, the Roomba and other versions of robot vacuums can make it so that you don't have to clean at all!

  4. Step 4

BEDS Learn to be ok with a made bed, not a perfect bed. For details on how to make the bed in an acceptable fashion without back pain, see the resources below for a detailed how to.
