Things You'll Need:
- Containers
- Skewers or lollipop sticks
- Floral foam
- Cellophane/ribbons
- Flyers
- Chocolate candy
-
Step 1
Start by purchasing interesting containers when you see them. Look for containers at yard sales, thrift shops and discount stores. Almost anything that holds stuff will work as a container. Pay as little as you can so you can make money with chocolate bouquets. If you spend $2.00 on a jewelry box at a yard sale that looks like it costs $20, you can upcharge for the box but still keep your prices reasonable and make a nice profit.
-
Step 2
Purchase chocolate in bulk through online wholesalers and warehouses like Costco. Also buy floral foam, lollipop sticks or skewers at the craft store.
-
Step 3
Price out the cost of materials and your time to determine how much to charge. If you spent $2.00 on a box that looks like it costs $20.00 factor in a charge of around $12.00 for it and add on the cost of chocolates and other items. Then add a fee for your time. You could charge $25.00 for a simple childs basket in a sand pail and $80.00 or so for a high quality gift basket of pricey chocolates. Charging the right amount is very important to make money with chocolate bouquets.
-
Step 4
Make and distribute flyers to friends and local businesses advertising your chocolate bouquet business.
-
Step 5
Prepare each basket as you get the order. Stuff shredded newspaper or tissue in the bottom of the container. Add floral foam. Stick the chocolates with skewers and wrap in cellophane and ribbon. Stick in the floral foam in the basket. Add lots of ribbon.
-
Step 6
Deliver your baskets on time. Be sure to include a simple gift card that gives the name of the person who purchased it and your name and number in case they want to order a chocolate bouquet for someone else.
-
Step 7
Keep emails of your customers and send an email reminding them of your chocolate bouquet business right before the holidays. Building a customer base is the best way to make money with chocolate bouquets.
