Going to the spa is expensive. You can create a wonderful spa like experience at your own home. Not only will you save money, but you will be able find peace and relaxation especially after a stressful day. Follow these steps to learn how to give yourself spa treatments at home.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Olive oil
  • An avocado
  • Shower cap
  • Soothing Music
  • Candles
  • Extra moisturizing lotion like Aveeno or Curel
  • Exfoliating Gloves
  • St. Ives Apricot Exfoliating Scrub
  1. Step 1

Take a small avocado and peel it. Place it into your blender or food processor and turn on the appliance. Add 3 tablespoons of olive oil to the avocado mixture. Turn on the blender or food processor and turn it off once the mixture is completely mixed. Put the mixture in a cup and take it with you into your bathroom.

  2. Step 2

I recommend starting your spa experience by pampering your face. Wet your face, and then put a quarter size amount of the St. Ives exfoliating scrub into the palm of one of your hands. Put it onto your face, and then gently scrub it against your face. Wash it off your face, and make sure you remove all of the scrub.

  3. Step 3

Next, fill up your tub with water. Add your favorite bath oil to the running water. I recommend lavender. Lavender is good for relaxing and soothing a tired body.

  4. Step 4

Turn on some soothing music, and then light a few candles. Place them around your bath tub. Make sure they are situated in a secure location.

  5. Step 5

Take your avocado/olive oil hair mask mixture to the bath tub. Hop into the bath and apply the mixture evenly to your hair. Make sure you apply it everywhere, especially concentrating on the ends of your hair. Put on your shower cap and leave the hair mask on for fifteen minutes. Wash out the hair mixture, and then shampoo and condition as normal. This mask will help strengthen and condition your hair.

  6. Step 6

While your hair is conditioning from the mask, put on your exfoliating gloves. Apply Oil of Olay exfoliating scrub to the gloves and exfoliate your body. Concentrate on rough spots like your elbows and feet.

  7. Step 7

Once you get out of the bath tub apply a moisture rich lotion to your entire body. Do this while your skin is still moist. This allows the lotion to penetrate your skin better than when your skin is completely dry.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make this spa experience speak to you. Choose music that you really like and your favorite candle scents.
