Things You'll Need:
- Positive attitude
- Lighthearted view of the world
-
Step 1
Don't take her too seriously. She's a popstar, not a rocket scientist. When people complain that she rarely sings live or that her music is subpar, they're really missing the point. Britney is an entertainer, a spectacular performer and great gossip fodder. Enjoy her for what she does well, and don't get riled up about her more questionable antics. Remember: It's just Britney!
-
Step 2
Appreciate her as a guilty pleasure. Chocolate, soap operas, psychic readings. They're all guilty pleasures we hate to love. Britney Spears definitely falls into that category. So go ahead and add her to that list, and soon you'll start appreciating her in the same vein as Doritos and an ice cold frappuccino.
-
Step 3
Attend one of her concerts. In order to truly appreciate her talent as a performer and entertainer, it would help to see her live on tour. You don't have to dish out a lot of money for prime seats - no matter where you sit, you'll be blown away by the spectacle she puts on. It's just not the same on TV.
-
Step 4
Enjoy her in small doses. Especially if you're not a fan, constantly seeing and hearing Britney on TV and the radio may drive you a little crazy. That's why it helps if you consume different aspects of Britney Spears in moderation. Appreciating her talent and art will be that much easier.

on 4/23/2009 Thanks for your thoughtful article on appreciating Brittney Spears. I think the girl was taken advantage of in so many ways that the woman was never taught. When she became a mom, suddenly everyone expected her to be mature, responsible or present. Who taught her those skills? Her parents? They enjoyed the ride at their daughters expense. Someone needs to take Brittney and the boys in and teach her responsibility and respect. Someone should guide her into maturity with love and compassion. She is amazingly talented. Too talented to settle for trashy clothes and sleazy videos. 5*

on 12/18/2008 I think Britney Spears got lucky. She met the right people who turned her into a star. The men gave her the music, the men gave her the lyrics- although I think she wrote one lyric herself. She grew up too fast in the music industry, and didn't get a chance to be a bad girl, and so she tried it-- just at the wrong time 'cause she had kids. She did the drugs which messed up her mind and that in itself threw her into a downward spiral. Instead of embracing her life (the millions she has e.t.c.), she decided that she would think about all the negative things in her life, and she decided that she was a depressed individual (her manager could have told her to say that, and this could have led her to eventually believe it). She should get back on track, take parenting classes, give to charity more, stop drugs and drinking completely, and attend therapy because her father swears a lot an
