A Viral Video is a video that is viral(everyone is talking about it) This how to, will show you how to take your RAW video footage and transfer it into something that is all over the internet and you hear about it everywhere.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Video
  • Computer
  • Editing software
  • Internet
  • Creativity
  1. Step 1

Shoot something. Now keep in mind that what you might think is great, might not be great for everyone else. On that note, you should think of relavancy. A Viral video has to cater to the masses, something that just affects you or a small group of people isn't going to be interesting to several. And by definition, a viral video has to cater to a culture.

  2. Step 2

Upload you video footage to a computer. The best way to do this is via fire wire, but there are no shortage of options. When I say firewire, that is if you are using an actual video camera (various formats), but this doesn't always have to be the case. A video shot with a cell phone can be a viral video. The quality doesn't matter, the only thing that matters is that when someone sees that video, they instinctively want to tell others about it.

  3. Step 3

Once your video footage is uploaded, you need to edit it. This is not something you always have to do, but it is something to think about for two reasons. Reason 1, everything is better when edited, you cna cut out the crap and make it look how you want it to. Reason 2, you can add things, for example, a website address. One of the major reasons to launch a viral video is to get the word out (viral marketing), even if the message has nothing to do with the video. Think about it, if 1 million people see your video, thats cool, but if you have your website adress on the bottom of the video, and 1 million people see it, some of those people are going to goto the site.

  4. Step 4

Finally, once you have you video finished, upload it to a major video sharing site, and when it comes to those, no one comes close to Youtube, so I would start there. And keep in mind that just because you put it up on Youtube, that doesn't mean you can't put it anywhere else. the more places you put it, the better chance it has to be seen.

Tips & Warnings
  • Some video sites, will give you a small amount when you put the video on their site, but when you do this, they usually legaly gain all rights to the video, which is something you want to avoid.
