Things You'll Need:
- Greek Coffee pot or small sauce pan
- water
- Greek Coffee
- Sugar (optional)
-
Step 1
Measure half cup per person water and put in the small pot (briki bree-k-ee in Greek). Then measure one heaping teaspoon per half cup of Greek Coffee into the pot. Put one teaspoon of sugar per cup if desired. Stir. Heat over medium heat.
-
Step 2
Watch pot as it heats, when the coffee begins to rise, turn off the heat. Pour into small cups (like espresso cups) let it sit for a minute and enjoy. Do not drink it to the bottom of the cup, as it is very grainy and muddy at the end.
-
Step 3
Some people swirl the coffee at the end around the cup, over turn it, let it dry out a little, and try to see their fortune in the shapes the dried coffee has created on the cup. This is purely for entertainment and fun.
Greek Coffee is delicious and aromatic (as long as you don't drink the bottom of the cup). Enjoy!
