Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

  • A hand and a butterfly knife.
  1. Step 1
Notice the blade is facing downward.

Notice the blade is facing downward.

This is the butterfly knife. There are some important points for safties sake. This is a clip point blade. Most important, the top most handle is the "safe" handle. The sharp portion of the blade will never come in contact with this handle. The lower most handle we will call the free handle, as it does most of the moving.

  2. Step 2

We are ready to begin from this point. The handles are in the same position as the previous image.

  3. Step 3

Grasp the safe handle between your thumb and palm. Let go of the free handle, letting the handle and blade point towards the ground.

  4. Step 4

Twist the safe handle between your thumb and fingers clockwise.

  5. Step 5

Contenue to twist the knife 360 degrees.

  6. Step 6

Now your free handle is pointing down again and the blade is pointing forward.

  7. Step 7

Point the blade slightly up to allow gravity to pull the free handle closer to your hand. Place your pointer finger around the free handle to bring it in.

  8. Step 8

Place your middle finger on the free handle and pull your ring and pinky fingers out.

  9. Step 9

Grasp the handle with your full hand. We are now ready to open the mail.

  10. Step 10

Closing happens the same way as opening. Release the free handle again letting it poin down.

  11. Step 11

Twist the handle in your fingers again 360 degrees in a clockwise direction.

  12. Step 12

Now we are back to having our blade between the handles facing down.

  13. Step 13
Make sure you are holding the safe handle.

Make sure you are holding the safe handle.

Point the safe handle up to bring in the knife.

  14. Step 14

Grip the now closed knife. Now where ready to start over.

Tips & Warnings
  • I don't recomond using a double bladed butterfly knife. If there are two blades than there is NO safe handle.
