How to Take That Nasty Sticky Burnt Food Off Your Pots/Pans

Don't throw about the pots/pans, or try scrubbing it with your beautiful manicure. This is a very friendly, fast and environmentally friendly way of scouring you pans/pots! If you are like me, and even with using non-stick spray, find your food sticking and acting like an adhesive.. try this family trick for getting pots clean!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Kosher salt
  • warm water
  • non stick spatula or flipper
  • (If don't have above use paper towels)
  1. Step 1

    Step 1: Take the dirty grimy thing and lay it flat( bottom of pan is on the counter)




    Step 5: Go have a glass of wine or snack!

  2. Step 2

    Step 2: Take out of your cupboard kosher salt!

  3. Step 3

    Step 3-- without wetting the pan/pot pour enough salt on the pan.. make it covered

  4. Step 4

    Step 4: Let it sit and settle.. just the salt no water Like 5-10 minutes

  5. Step 5

    Put a little warm water in the pan.. just enough to make the salt get gummy
    Take a non-stick spatula or burger flipper and press lightly on the pan/pot scrap the stuff off.
    -Use more warm water if desired.
    -Wash pot/pan

Tips & Warnings
  • If the gunk is really stuck you may have to do it twice, or let the salt sit longer than 10 minutes.
  • Avoid Contact with eyes and be careful while sraping pan/pot.

on 12/5/2008 I can't guarentee this will get alll the gunk off.. but it gets a lot off and less expensive!
