Things You'll Need:
- Internet
-
Step 1
If you have Microsoft Office 2007 you can download the "2007 Microsoft Office Add-in: Microsoft Save as PDF." This add-in works with Office 2007 programs (Access, Excell, InfoPath, OneNote, PowerPoint, Publisher, Visio, and Word). The link to the download page is listed in the resources section.
-
Step 2
SourceForge.net PDF CreatorAnother way is to download PDFCreator from SourceForge.net. The program is free under the GNU General Public License. It works like a printer, instead of printing to an printer you print your document into a PDF.
-
Step 3
If you are one of those people who do not like installing programs on your computer you can use Doc2PDF. This way you upload the file you want to convert and when the process is complete they send you the PDF as an email attachment. Of course this option has quite a few restrictions; 1. the file must be less than 2MB, 2. your email service provider allows you to receive attachments, 3. you are willing to wait for the email. One thing I do not like about this process is that your documents are uploaded to some server, so who knows how secure this process is? I wouldn't recommend this if you have sensitive and private information on the documents you would like to convert.
-
Step 4
SourceForge.net PDFeditNow if you want to edit a PDF document you can download PDFedit from SourceForge.net. Just like PDFCreator it is free under the GNU General Public License. It has advanced editing options and easy to use GUI functions. (GUI - graphical user interface)
