Have Negative Feedback Removed on eBay

Sellers on eBay often receive undeserved negative feedback. Now that sellers are unable to leave negative or neutral feedback for buyers, some buyers abuse the feedback system. In some situations, eBay will remove negative feedback. Learn how to have negative feedback removed from your eBay feedback page.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

If the buyer leaves inappropriate feedback using profanity, harsh language, links to a website, personal information, racist remarks, or otherwise abusive language, the feedback can be removed.

  2. Step 2

If a member fails to pay for an item, and does not respond to the Unpaid Item drocess, the feedback can be removed.

  3. Step 3

If the buyer doesn't pay for the item, and responds to the Unpaid Item Dispute with a lame or ridiculous comment, his feedback can be removed. Examples include claiming that he bought the item accidentally, he doesn't get paid until next week, or he just changed his mind.

  4. Step 4

The catch is that you have to notify eBay of the situation after the negative feedback has been left. You must be proactive to get eBay to remove the feedback if one of these situations occurs. Just email eBay Trust and Safety and explain the situation. eBay will be able to look at the transaction, payment (or non-payment) history, and communication between you and the buyer.

  5. Step 5

Sellers can request feedback revision from buyers. If your buyer left negative feedback and then you resolved a problem and end on good terms with your buyer, you can ask them to revise the feedback. Just to to your feedback page, and on the right side you will see FEEDBACK REVISION. Your neutrals and negs will appear and you just follow the steps. Feedback revision must be done within 30 days from the date the feedback was left.

  6. Step 6

If a buyer is suspended, eBay will automatically remove any negative and neutral comments from him. This is one reason you should always file Unpaid Item Disputes. If a buyer gets enough UPIs, he will be suspsended, and all his negs and neutrals will be erased.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be proactive and communicate with eBay about having negatives removed. They won't automatically remove it in every case.
  • Be careful what you say in emails to buyers. If there is a problem and you have to report the buyer, eBay has access to everything in the message system. Be sure to correspond professionally at all times.
