Things You'll Need:
- In recent years, I have had so many friends, colleagues, and graduate classmates complain about their boss. With that, I felt it was necessary to write an article on this particular topic.
-
Step 1
• Step 1: Try to restructure your thought patterns about your boss. Analyze your own actions and behaviors and try to frame the right problem. Additionally, try to think strategically about what is going on and devise a more restructured approach to deal with the problem.
-
Step 2
• Step 2: Analyze yourself. Check your own attitude maybe it's not your boss but your own negative outlook. Devise a plan that will improve your attitude everyday before going in to work.
-
Step 3
• Step 3: Become more effective and efficient at your job responsibilities. Find ways to improve doing your job, or find more efficient ways of doing your job, and present your ideas to your boss. In other words, make your boss love your performance. His or her attitude may change.
-
Step 4
• Step 4: Agree to Agree. Stop disagreeing with your boss and try to mitigate all disagreements. No, you don't have to always be a "yes man"; however, learned to become a bit more agreeable with your boss.
-
Step 5
• Step 5: If none of these strategies work, be prepared to develop a exit strategy before resigning from your position. Developing an exit strategy will boost your confidence level up. Please also remember that if you have an effective backup contingency plan you are the one that is in charge.
