Step 1
PASSION: What are you passionate about? Family, career, money? To find what drives you, assess your life. How much of your energy is expended on your relationships, job, or finances? Your list can be as long or as short as your life requires. Create a list and place categories in order of how much time you spend on each, and you'll see where your priorities lie.
-
Step 2
REVIEW: Now that you've listed what you expend the most energy on, do you want to make any changes? Maybe you spend a great deal of time focused on career but feel that you're neglecting your family. Make a second list and prioritize your life the way you think it SHOULD look.
-
Step 3
GOALS: If you want your family to come first, for example, now is the time to create a game plan. Say you often want to have more time with the kids, but are just too busy. Begin small. Set aside one hour per week to spend at the park with your kids. Stick to it! As you create new habits, expand your goals to include more activities, with more frequency. You get the idea.
-
Step 4
To find your purpose in life, you simply have to decide what is most important to you. Then, you need to devote time consistently to this. Soon your life will have purpose, and you will feel in control and more fulfilled.
