This article will help you save some money by making your own elegant floating candle centerpieces.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Purchase large glass containers from your local craft store, enough for each table at your reception, including the bridal table and gift table. If you have extra long tables, you may want to purchase enough for three per table. Also purchase some floating candles either locally or online for a more reasonable price. The 3 inch candles burn 8-10 hours, so that should be long enough to last through even a lengthy reception.

  2. Step 2

This is where your creativity comes in. You can fill the containers with colored water, or plain. You can put the glass containers on mirrors covered in glitter. You can either wrap beads or ribbon around your containers to reflect the wedding party colors you have chosen. If you have roses as your flower, you can place petals on all of the tables around the containers for a romantic effect. If your containers are large enough, you can place 2-3 candles in each vessel. You can also wrap the glass containers in a Tulle fabric for a more Victorian effect.

  3. Step 3

Leave someone in charge of lighting all of the candles just before the guests arrive.

Tips & Warnings
  • If there are small children at the festivities, warn their parents about the candles.
