Learning the basics of digital scrapbooking is a fun process that takes no special knowledge of computers to accomplish. It saves money because the same supplies can be used again and again and it saves time and energy as well as space since supplies don't need to be stored.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Scrapbooking software
  • Access to the Internet
  1. Step 1

Select a scrapbooking program. Consider free programs available online or purchase a product designed specifically for digital scrapbooking.

  2. Step 2

Install the chosen program on your computer. Take any tutorials offered with the software to familiarize yourself with the options available.

  3. Step 3

Select a photograph from the images on your computer and select a background that goes with the photograph. For a vibrant layout, choose colors that are on opposite ends of the color wheel. For a soft and more natural layout, choose colors that are beside each other on the color wheel.

  4. Step 4

Drop the photograph on to the background paper you've chosen. Add a frame, a ribbon, a bow and any other embellishments you like to create a layout that's pleasing to you.

  5. Step 5

Save the final layout once you've arranged everything the way you want it.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make your layouts 3-D by leaving some of the layout space empty and adding stickers or embellishments to it once it's printed.
  • Take advantage of scrapbooking blog sites that offer digital scrapbooking supplies for free.
  • Always run an anti virus program on your computer to avoid getting a virus when downloading free digital scrapbooking supplies.
  • Make sure to comply with the terms of use set forth by the owner of digital scrapbooking supplies. Typically, such supplies can be used for personal use but not for profit.
