Things You'll Need:
- Money
-
Step 1
One of the best selling points for rental properties is washer/dryer hookup or washer/dryer included. People do not enjoy going to the laundry mat. The ability to do laundry inside the home appeals to everyone.
-
Step 2
Ceiling fans, blinds, and window screens are also a great addition to any home. It sounds basic but you would be surprised at how many homes do not have them. They all help modify temperature. Potential tenants will see them as energy saving devices.
-
Step 3
Depending on the area of your property (high crime area or very nice area), alarm systems can be a huge incentive to rent your property. A selling point is to advertise that you will pay for monitoring. But of course they will really be paying for monitoring because it will come out of their rent payment :)
-
Step 4
Dishwashers and garbage disposals are optional appliances. They may generate interest but they also can cause headache because they often need repairs.
-
Step 5
Metal bicycle racks are a great addition if your property is in the city or near a bike trail.

on 1/24/2009 The biggest selling point for me would be the appliances, closet space, and kitchen storage. Though it is important to keep in mind how valuable the screening process is and should be.
