Things You'll Need:
- Creative Mind
- Adobe Creative Suite
- Paper and Pen
-
Step 1
Think about the brand that you are going to be creating a business card for. What is this company all about? Check out the feelings the company puts out to its customers, as well as the color pallet used by the brand. You want to incorporate this all into your business card.
-
Step 2
Try using a dominant graphic element, such as a logo or stylized brand colors. What you are going to want to do is make a style that seems like it fits in with the brand. If you have a flower shop than you not going to want to have jagged black and red lines that create an aggressive feel to it. Go with the brand feelings.
-
Step 3
You are going to want to start with a sketch pad and pencil, because there are always things you can only put down on a sketch pad. Start sketching out business cards using different layouts, trying various graphic elements, maybe some different (but still similar) color pallets. There is a lot you can do at this step to put together a great business card in lead.
-
Step 4
Once you have a bunch of good ideas down on paper, you look through them and start pointing out certain things you like. Take all of these elements that you like and try putting them together in a new ad. Once this is together, take the one that has all of the elements you like, and try sketching it out in new ways with subtle things changed. Just try moving one aspect from the left to right, subtlety adjusting size. This is the way you are going to find the exact mix of things you want.
-
Step 5
New that you have the business card you like, you can take it to the computer and put it up there. If you know the programs, you can usually use InDesign to put it together. If you don't know the design programs than you can now find a friend who does and pay them a little to do it for you. Or you can always drop me a message.
