How to Do Rag Curls
Rag curls are softer than pin curls and require only some rag strips to prepare. Old sheets work well, since they typically are cotton, soft and easy to wash. Does this Spark an idea?

Cut out about nine to 12 pieces of the terrycloth or sheet in 6- to 8-inch strips.

Detangle your hair and part it into two sections. Put one off to the side in a ponytail for now. .

Take a section of hair where your bangs are and roll it up around the strip -- not too tight, unless you want tight curls. Continue rolling all the way up as close to your scalp as you can. Tie it once and it will hold. When finished with one side, do the other.

You also can section your hair the same way, but when you take a section of hair near the bangs, do not start the rag curl at the end of the section. Instead, wrap the end of the section around a couple of your fingers. The more fingers, the less tight of a curl. Continue wrapping all the way up as close to the scalp as you can get. Take your fingers out but hold the wrapped hair. Take a rag and tie it around the end piece of your hair. Tying it once should hold.

Leave the rags on while you sleep. In the morning, gently untie and unroll your hair. Once you have them all unrolled, gently comb through and tousle. Spray shine serum if desired.

Asima Das- I know this post was a while ago, but someone still may be curious. They should last till you wash them or till you do anything where your hair loses curl (sweat, humidity, rain) it's only temporary, but the tighter the better- and if you spray them, you may get more use of them- I always tossle, the culs, with my fingers, not brush......my mom used to do rag curls on me all the time when I was younger- if you hair holds curl well, it should last all day or even into the next day- I would never try to get more then 2 days out of them.

wait til your hair is mostly dry. and sleep in them overnight if you can...i wrapped my head with scarf to sleep in....they last all day long (and into the next day. they are little more loose, but still curly). put some mouse in your hair when it is still damp then wrap them up. then when you take the rags out the next morning add a little more into your hair and run your fingers through it. they should hold up pretty well. once you do it once or twice---you'll get a better hang of it. also, you can take your blow dryer to it in the morning to help get out any dampness that may be left and to help it stay set longer.

why do my curls disappear in an hour? moreover combing makes my hair frizzy instead of soft set curls. :( please help.
