Now that you found out that you are pregnant, the first thing that you most likely want to know is your pregnancy due date. A normal full term pregnancy can last anywhere between 38 to 42 weeks. This is why a pregnancy due date is only a rough estimate of when you may give birth. A pregnancy due date is the medium amount of 40 weeks of pregnancy. If you have regular periods it is possible for you to calculate your pregnancy due date before you visit your doctor. Here is how you can calculate your pregnancy due date.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Date of last menstrual period
  • Calendar
  1. Step 1

Determine when the first day of your last menstrual period was. This should be the day that you actually start your period.

  2. Step 2

Subtract three months from the date of your last menstrual period. So, if your last menstrual period was on April 10, counting backwards three months would get you to January 10.

  3. Step 3

Add seven days after you have subtracted the three months from your last menstrual period. This will give you your pregnancy due date. Using the same dates as above, your pregnancy due date would be April 17.

Tips & Warnings
  • This way of calculating a pregnancy due date only works if you have regular menstrual periods. If you have irregular periods, you will have to wait until you see your doctor to get a better calculation on your pregnancy due date.
