Make Money

If you are tired of asking your parents for spending money only to have uncompleted chores and bad grades thrown in your face, then you need to read this article. It is hard to keep down a job when you are going to school, and still have time for your friends and hanging out. This article will give you some suggestions for how you can scrape up some extra pocket money without using up all of your time.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Old video games
  • Unwanted clothes
  • Scrap metal
  • Creative mind
  1. Step 1
    Recycle Cans

    Recycle Cans

Start a collection box for aluminum cans. If your family is like mine, you probably go through several twelve packs a week. It won't take long for the box to fill up and once it does, you can take it to a local recycler for some extra cash. Aluminum prices are rising, so now is a good time to collect.

  2. Step 2
    Scrap Metal

    Scrap Metal

Gather scrap metal. As long as you are heading to the recycler, you might as well gather up an other scrap metal you have lying around the yard. Make sure you ask mom or dad if it's alright, first. Copper, steel, aluminum and iron are just a few of metals fetching high prices these days.

  3. Step 3
    Run Errands

    Run Errands

Offer to run errands or move some furniture for an elderly person. Many seniors have chores around the house that they just can't do anymore. Besides being extremely grateful for the help, they will enjoy the company and likely tip you well.

  4. Step 4
    Babysitting Services

    Babysitting Services

Extend babysitting services to neighbors. If you have experience with younger siblings or taking care of little ones, this might be a good way to make some extra money in a flash. It might be a good idea to describe your experience and provide a reference for someone you have babysat for in the past.

  5. Step 5
    Old Video Games

    Old Video Games

Sell old video games or electronics gathering dust in your closet. This is a really fast way to put some green in your wallet without putting out much effort. Many towns have a video game retailer who will be happy to take your old games for a price, or you might just want to trade in old ones for new ones.

  6. Step 6
    Consigment

    Consigment

Collect unwanted items around the house, with your parents permission. Take the items to a consignment shop. Most towns have one or more of these stores. They take your merchandise and sell it in their store. They keep a portion of the selling price and you get the rest. Make sure you understand the store's specific policy before consigning your items. I love this tip the best. You can take things you no longer use and turn a profit without wasting a lot of time.
