Invest in a good bag. A special tennis bag, which looks like a rectangular duffel bag, allows you to pack rackets and other equipment without the racket sticking out.
Step2
Pack at least one extra, well-strung tennis racket.
Step3
Include at least one new can of tennis balls.
Step4
Remember to pack first-aid equipment, such as adhesive and elastic bandages and a dry-ice bag.
Step5
Pack extra T-shirts and a towel.
Step6
Include a water bottle, energy drink, sunglasses and sunscreen.
Step7
Put in extra wristbands and a hat or other headgear.
Step8
Include an extra pair of shoelaces, just in case.
Step9
Consider including a pack of vitamins and some snacks.
Tips & Warnings
Use only a specially designed tennis bag when you travel, so expensive rackets are not a visible target for thieves.
Make sure your bag has a separate compartment for sweaty clothes or shoes.

I always pack two thermos if it's a very long match...One water bottle is frozen solid and another is filled with cold water. By the time I'm well into the match (in warm weather) the frozen bottle is ready to drink and really refreshing.
I also always pack a piece of fruit or something in case of low blood sugar.

It's been established scientifically that Gatorade used at half strength is just as effective as using it full strength. Make your own half strength cooler to take to a match. It's a lot cheaper, and it helps prevent muscle cramps.

For those playing in cold weather bring a sweatshirt and sweatpants or windpants in case it gets cold. Also pack along gloves; cold hands make it hard to serve and even harder to hold a racket.
