Things You'll Need:
- Orbit key
-
Step 1
Decide on the rotation that you need. For guidance, check to see how the sprinkler head you are replacing is set. The sprinkler-head replacement is preset to 180 degrees. Adjust the head replacement with your palm. Push down to rotate the nozzle turret counterclockwise until it stops. Next, rotate the nozzle clockwise to the right stop.
-
Step 2
Insert the Orbit key into the adjustment socket and turn the key clockwise. If you would like to have the head sprinkle 45 degrees, turn the key 1/2 turn; for 90 degrees, turn the key one full turn, and so on.
-
Step 3
Remove the old sprinklee head. It will screw out of its riser relatively smoothly.
-
Step 4
Screw the new sprinkler head into the existing riser until you can no longer thread it through.
-
Step 5
Orient the arrow on the top of the cap so that it is pointing to the right stop. You do this by turning the the sprinkler head counterclockwise on the riser. This will ensure that, once the sprinkler is running, it will only work on the only the area of land you want to water, and not over-spray onto your sidewalk or driveway.
