1
Use an old white sheet or buy a new twin flat sheet from the store. Or you can substitute with a white shower curtain that can normally be found at the local dollar store. Find the middle and pull up the center.
-
2
Insert the round bouncy ball or newspaper for the head and then gather the material under the head and pin. Draw on the face of your choice for the ghost.

3
Remove the stuffing for the head. Cut out the ghost face with scissors. For a finished look or to prevent fraying, hem the edges of the cutouts.
-
4
Take the fishing wire and thread it onto a needle. Start at the inside of the top of the head and pierce through the fabric, make a loop and knot at the bottom against the head. Then, bring the needle back through to the inside and knot again and cut the needle off.
-
5
Insert the stuffing for the head again and pin. To hold securely, sew across the gathering until it is completely closed.
-
6
Spread the sides of the sheets until they are fully open. From the outer tips, cut jagged edges until you get to where the body would begin. To prevent the edges from fraying, hem the edges.

If you would like the arms to have some depth to them, stuff them with newspaper and then sew the seam to hold it into place. Plastic bags can also be used to be rain proof, or insert the newspaper into the plastic bags and then insert the stuffing into the ghost.
-
8
Thread the fishing wire into the needle. Insert it from the top back of the arm and make a loop. Now knot it to hold its place and insert back into the fabric and knot again to hold securely. Do the same on the other arm.

Tips & Warnings
If you're making mutliple ghosts, change the facial expressions on each one. If you live in an apartment or want just small ones for your windows, think about doing mini ghosts with white trash bags or with sheets.
If you have young children, it may be best to make happy faced ghosts as to not scare them.
