Things You'll Need:
- Stationary
- Envelopes
- Stamps
-
Step 1
Sit down with your children, grandchildren, or students and have them all write a letter to Santa Claus.
-
Step 2
Address the letter - Santa Claus, North Pole - and then add a stamp to the envelope.
-
Step 3
Drop off the stamped envelope at Macy's. All of the Macy's department stores will have specialized mailboxes. For every letter dropped into their mailbox, they will donate $1 to the Make A Wish Foundation - up to $1 million dollars. Macy's also has provided a downloadable Santa letter kit on www.macys.com/believe which includes official Santa letterhead and other things to help the children write their letters.
-
Step 4
Order a response letter from Santa Claus from a participating organization who donates part of the proceeds to charity. There are many businesses who will write personal responses to the child for a set price and then they will donate a portion of what you pay to charity. SantaLetterForChristmas.com is one of these organizations but you can find more by doing an internet search on the words Santa Letter Charity.
-
Step 5
Order a response letter puzzle from SantaSaid.com. You can send the Santa letter to this organization who will send back a puzzle of the response letter. Your child will receive the puzzle and should put it together to read Santa's letter. In addition, 10% of the proceeds go to a non-profit org.

on 12/3/2008 I love this idea! Most young kids write one anyway. This way, other kids can benefit too. Win-win.
