Take a snapshot of the Second Life facility where your event will be held, or download an image that fits your theme from Google, Yahoo, Flickr or iStockPhoto.

In Microsoft Word, compose a detailed description of your event. Here's an example:
"Party on the Boardwalk"
Date: Friday, Oct. 24, 2008
Time: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. SL
Location: (Enter the event location here)
Host: Bobbie Naidoo
Category: Nightlife
Rating: PG or Mature
Cover Charge: No

Step 3
Create a MySpace account using your Second Life picture and profile information. MySpace is a great place to advertise an event in Second Life. To increase the amount of views, create Second Life Blogs and regularly add Second Life layouts, videos and pictures. Use the "Headline" section to advertise your event, and simply copy and paste the detailed description you created in Microsoft Word.

Create free accounts at Blogger and Wordpress using your Second Life picture and profile information. Copy and paste the detailed event description you created in Microsoft Word. To increase the amount of views you blog receives, create weekly Second Life blogs and regularly add Second Life pictures.

Register and create a profile at SLProfiles. This website is dedicated to Second Life users, and has a special section for advertising events held in Second Life. In the "Browse" section, click on "Second Life Events" to bring up the events page. Click on "Add Event" and begin entering your event information and picture.

Log on to Second Life and click on the "Community" tab to open the "Community Page." On the left side of the page, click on the "Event" tab to open the "Community Events Calendar." On this page, click on "Add Event" and begin entering your event information.

Click on the "Edit" tab on the tool bar. Scroll down the list and click on your profile. In the "Group" section, click on the group for which you are hosting an event. On the "Group Information" page, click on the "Notice" tab to create a notice to send out to other members about the event.
