Do you have a new subwoofer that you'd like to get into a box, but you're not completely sure how to do it? These steps take you through the easiest way to do it. The hardest part is probably identifying the positive and negative wires.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the old speaker from the box, if applicable, with a drill or screwdriver. The screws can be found all around the actual speaker. Before pulling the old speaker out of the box, ensure that the wires are disconnected from the terminals in the back of it.

    • 2

Connect the wires to the back of the speaker to be installed before dropping it into the box. The positive wire will normally have a bigger terminal for easy identification. If it does not, follow the wire back to its source, and identify whether the striped side of the wire is negative or positive.

    • 3

Tighten the speaker into the box by reinstalling the screws around the perimeter of it. Make it snug so the speaker will not rattle around.

Tips & Warnings

  • For a great seal, put a bead of silicone around the back edge of the speaker and allow to dry before installation.
