Everyone needs car insurance because car insurance protects unlucky victims of car related accidents. Not only is it protection against accidents but it is also the law in most states.

    Determine How Much Coverage Is Needed - The first thing that is needed when selecting auto insurance is to figure out how much coverage will be needed. Each state sets forth a minimum liability coverage you must maintain but you will have to decide what you want to buy beyond these minimums.

    Research & Learn the Lingo - The regulations set forth by each state can vary considerably but there are universal insurance terms that you will need to know when selecting a policy. You should get comfortable with these terms before jumping into selecting your insurance policy.

  3. Step 3

    Review Your Driving Record and Current Insurance Policy - Before comparing your auto insurance you need to find out what your current premiums are and your driving record status. This can be done by contacting your current car insurance provider.

  4. Step 4

    Compare Car Insurance Quotes - Car insurance varies from person to person because of the different inputs that is used to calculate everyone's risk. Contact different auto insurance providers or use websites that compare auto insurance quotes (see links below).
