Things You'll Need:
- Wig block
- Plastic wig block cover
- T-pins
- Mild shampoo
- Toothbrush
- Towel
-
Step 1
Place a plastic cover over the wig block to protect the block's canvas and mount the wig on it.
-
Step 2
Gently brush the wig to loosen any dirt or hairspray.
-
Step 3
Mark the wig size on the block with a T-pin in the front, on the sides and at the back; remove the wig to clean it.
-
Step 4
Fill a container with mild shampoo or cleaner and tepid/cool water. Swish the wig for several minutes through the cleanser and water.
-
Step 5
Clean the edges and inside of the netting with a toothbrush dipped in the soapy water.
-
Step 6
Squeeze out any excess water and towel blot.
-
Step 7
Place the wig back onto the block, stretching it to meet the T-pins placed as measurements of the wig. Let dry naturally.
-
Step 8
When the wig is dry, you can set and style it. Do not use heated products such as curling irons on synthetic hair. It will cause it to melt and stick together.
