Cut the top off a head of garlic, and remove all of the cloves. Gently press each clove with the side of a knife to make it easier to peel. Peel all of the cloves. Do not cut or chop the cloves -- keep them whole.

Place one whole clove in each bin on the ice cube tray. Fill each ice cube box with olive oil.

    • 3

Place the ice cube tray into the freezer. Whenever you need to use garlic, pop one of the oil ice cubes out and thaw. The garlic clove will be whole, peeled, and still fresh.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you prefer to work with garlic puree, you can easily freeze the garlic in this form. After you peel the garlic cloves, place them in a blender or food processor. Add olive oil and pulse until you have a fine puree. Store the puree in a container and freeze. Garlic should always be kept in a dry, cool, and dark place. Avoid keeping garlic in the refrigerator because it will become bitter and grow sprouts.
