Mewtwo is one of the most powerful Pokemon characters. He first made his appearance in the early Pokemon video games as a creature that you could control and use in dangerous battles. Mewtwo uses his considerable strength to hurl his enemies around the battlefield or create impregnable shields to stave off attacks. Follow along for a step by step method that will allow you to draw your very own powerful Mewtwo. Learn how to use basic geometric shapes and gradually add more details until the picture becomes complete.

Instructions

      Begin by drawing a basic frame. Add an oval for the head, a longer oval for the chest and a wide oval for the pelvis. Add limbs with some basic lines. Make small circles for the elbows. Create the guidelines for the hands with triangular shapes. Make similar shapes for the feet.

      Add a tail with a long curved line coming off the back of Mewtwo. Add a cross ("t" shape) inside the head to mark our where the eyes and nose will go.

      Draw three small circles inside the hands for Mewtwo's fingers. Add two rectangular shapes on top of the head. For the exposed eye, draw an angled oval shape on the horizontal line of the "t" cross. Add a nostril with a small dash near the bottom front of the face.

      Flesh out the body of Mewtwo. Draw parallel lines around the outside of Mewtwo's guidelines. This will help give his body shape and form. Be sure to make the tail fatten out again near the tip.

      Add two small circles on the right side foot for toes. Add the heel on the left side foot with a small circle at the back of the foot. Draw an elongated upside down "u" shape for the Mewtwo's belly. Add a curved line on the upper chest of Mewtwo to show his pectoral (chest) muscles. Add a small circle inside Mewtwo's eyes for the pupils.

      Erase all of the guidelines. Erase around the eyes and extend the top of the eye down and up again to make an expression of determination. Add lines coming off the finger circles to show that the hands are extended.

      Ink the drawing. Let the ink dry and erase all the pencil. Add shadows under the chin, arms, tail and feet for added depth and realism. Now you have your very own drawing of one of the Pokemon universe's most dangerous creatures, Mewtwo. Hang him on your wall or place him side by side with another Pokemon character. They might even battle each other while you sleep!

Tips & Warnings

  • Adding diagonal lines around the eye can make Mewtwo look fierce and determined.

  • Be sure to let the ink dry before you erase the pencil.
