  • Banana
  • Stainless-steel knife
  • Pineapple or lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • Basting brush

      Peel the banana and slice it with a stainless-steel knife.

      Brush each side of the banana slices lightly with freshly squeezed pineapple or lemon juice.

      Use Fresh-Fruit, a processed ascorbic acid, to prevent the bananas from browning.

Tips & Warnings

  • Select a banana that is not too green or too ripe. It should be yellow with a hint of green on both ends and no brown spots.

  • Some people say brushing the slices with salt water works also, if you can stand the taste.

  • Immersing the slices in orange, lemon or lime juice will make them soggy.
