There is nothing like a homemade gift. It may seem a little too frugal for some, but a gift made from the heart is the best kind of gift to receive and reflects the true spirit of holiday giving.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1
    Espsom Salts

    Espsom Salts

Put 2 cups of epsom salts in a large ziploc freezer bag. Add 1-2 tablespoons of baking soda, this softens skin. Mix well.

  2. Step 2
    Lavander Fragrance

    Lavander Fragrance

Add 10-12 drops of essential scented oil. Lavender or vanilla are the most relaxing or eucalyptus will work well too. Work it into the salts real well.

  3. Step 3
    Food Coloring

    Food Coloring

The next step is optional, add your choice of food coloring, but not too much. It is best to make these without coloring but you can color it if you choose.

  4. Step 4

After stirring the ingredients well for a couple of minutes. Place it into nice glass jars with decorated lids, such as mason jars, spaghetti jars, jelly jars, baby food jars. You can paint the glass on the jar with a bathtub scene or other holiday design.

  5. Step 5

Decorate the glass jar with a pretty ribbon, a cloth square on a mason jar lid, or paint over the design of a regular jar lid. Attach a gift tag that says something like: "Spa Treatment Just for -----!" Insert name, Mom, Dad, my Sister, my Dearest Friend, or You.

  6. Step 6

Attach instructions: " Add a few tablespoons to warm bath water for a relaxing bath. Enjoy!"

Tips & Warnings
  • You can use Dead Sea Salt instead of Epsom Salts or use 1 cup of Epsom Salt and 1 cup of Dead Sea Salt. Make sure to remove the dark pieces in the dead sea salt that may have got passed in processing.
  • Don't use table salt. It will dry out your skin.
