Things You'll Need:
- Basic intuition
-
Step 1
Although I didn't know the difference between Oracle and Tarot when I bought my first deck, information is a good thing. Oracles are a little more expansive than tarot, and allow for great in depth, one card readings. They represent actual energies in nature that are very much alive. For example there are tree angel oracles, angel oracles, fairy oracles, etc. Tarot cards are more simple per card, but allow for more beginner based spreads. Both will evolve with the reader. Anything that is involving is best, as it helps you to better know yourself, and your interests. It also helps you to communicate with those you love, deity, etc. A communicative tool, was my first. It helped me to overcome a lot of fear that I was raised with. Oracles are best for fear based people, because they do not have the connotations, or the energy of tarot. Both are perfectly acceptable tools, but sadly tarot has been demonized, and many who were raised in a Christian church are horrified by them.

Step 2
Look online for pricing, and possible purchases. There are some great deals online, and it will give you an idea of what the item is generally worth. There are many frauds and corrupt shop owners that charge an arm and a leg for something that costs the equivalent of a pack of chewing gum. You can also see many of the cards and items that are offered. This is also a great option for someone who doesn't have the access to a spiritualist shop, or bookstore that carries what they need.

Step 3
Go into shops. Look for local shops, spiritualist shops, etc. Many bookstores carry spirit boards, tarot, oracle, etc. Look around. Usually you will feel a "knowing" of a good shop, or where this item is. If not, then ask!
-
Step 4
When you look around pay notice to anything that is catching your eye, or a particular feeling you get about a certain section of the shop. When you find this item, you will love it. It should be "calling your name", so to speak. Use your intuition.

Step 5
Don't feel bad if you don't find your deck the first time you go somewhere. It is okay to look around, and is better to spend your money on the right deck, than get one that is just "eh".
-
Step 6
Remember to respect others privacy when reading. Cards are not meant to be your personal peepshow into others lives! That said, enjoy your readings!
